Visualizations
Data Viz can generate multiple types of visualizations including charts, tables, Excel files, and interactive maps.
Visualization Types
When you ask a question, Data Viz analyzes your query and generates the most appropriate visualization. You may receive multiple visualizations in a single response.
Charts
Data Viz generates interactive Plotly charts for data visualization. Supported chart types include:
- Bar Charts - Compare values across categories
- Line Charts - Show trends over time or sequences
- Scatter Plots - Display relationships between two variables
- Pie Charts - Show proportions of a whole
- Histograms - Display distribution of values
- Box Plots - Show statistical distributions
Chart Interactions
- Hover - See exact values by hovering over data points
- Zoom - Click and drag to zoom into a region
- Pan - Hold shift and drag to pan around
- Reset - Double-click to reset the view
- Download - Click the download button to save as JPEG
Tables
Data tables provide a structured view of your data with the following features:
- Sortable Columns - Click column headers to sort
- Scrollable - Navigate through large datasets
- Row/Column Counts - See the size of your dataset
- Copy to Clipboard - Click to copy the table for pasting into Excel or other applications
- View Property- For property tables, click "View" to navigate to the property detail page
Latitude and longitude columns are automatically hidden to keep tables clean, but the data is included if you copy to clipboard.
Excel Files
Request an Excel file when you need to:
- Do further analysis in spreadsheet software
- Share data with colleagues
- Create custom reports
- Archive search results
Excel files are generated with properly formatted columns and data types. Click the download button to save the .xlsx file to your computer.
Example queries:
- "Export all apartments in Phoenix to Excel"
- "Create a spreadsheet of parcels over 5 acres"
- "Give me an Excel file with property owner information"
Interactive Maps
Data Viz can generate interactive maps that display on your main map view. Map visualizations can:
- Apply Filters - Filter the map to show matching properties
- Toggle Layers - Enable/disable specific map layers
- Set Bounds - Navigate to a specific geographic area
- Highlight Areas - Show polygons for areas of interest
When a map visualization is generated, you'll see it applied to your map view automatically.
Multiple Visualizations
Complex queries may generate multiple visualizations. When this happens:
- Tabs - Each visualization appears in a separate tab
- Dashboard View - See all visualizations as cards in a grid
- Navigation - Click tabs or cards to switch between visualizations
Streaming Results
As Data Viz processes your query, you'll see:
- Status Messages- "Searching properties...", "Creating visualization..."
- Partial Results- Text appears as it's generated
- Final Visualizations - Charts and tables appear when complete
This streaming approach lets you see progress in real-time rather than waiting for the entire response.
Disabling Visualization Types
If you only want certain types of visualizations, you can configure this in Settings. For example, you might disable charts if you only need tables and Excel files.
